Alabama State Director of Tourism Lee Sentell began his presentation to the Auburn Rotary Club by showing a series of promotional videos by the department that accentuate the diversity of activities and memorable tourist sites available to Alabama citizens and visitors. Sentell mentioned that Alabama boasts 22 state parks, and 32 miles of sugar-white beaches. He also spoke about the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, which has been a tremendous success in attracting tourists to the state. Another benefit of the promotion of Alabama’s tourism is that it attracts retirees as well a aids in the recruitment of new industry to Alabama—which helps all citizens not only in increased tax revenue, but also, providing new and exciting jobs and careers for our citizens. |
