Chette Williams
AU Football Team Chaplain

Auburn University football team chaplain Chette Williams addressed the Auburn Rotary Club about his experiences at Auburn in his role as team chaplain for the past nine years.   He credited Coach Tommy Tuberville with having the vision and wisdom to consider the need for a "spiritual"
coordinator to fill out his staff.  He related that after Auburn's perfect season in 2004, Coach Tuberville was invited to speak to the NCAA coaches' convention.  He told the assembled group of coaches that he felt that most important factor to the team's success was in making God an integral part of the Auburn football program.

Williams also said the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Auburn has become the national training center for prospective team chaplains from across the country. "Bro. Chette" says that the FCA is totally voluntary at Auburn, but that more than 95 percent of the players participate in the group.
