Dr. Michael Goodlett |
Physician Auburn University Athletics |
Dr. Michael Goodlett addressed Rotarians about his role as physician for Auburn University Athletics programs. His main goal is the physical well-being of the student athletes and their rapid and complete recovery when they do suffer injury. He works with a team of doctors, trainers and rehabilitation specialists to achieve this goal. Some of the things he stresses are to act promptly when a student athlete is injured, have a plan for their rehabilitation, adapt to the individual and avoid expediency when an athlete is injured. In other words, the responding team takes the time to respond appropriately to the situation and not rush and risk further injury.
