Dr. J. Terry Jenkins
2007 Rotary Citizen of the Year and
Auburn City Schools Superintendent

The Auburn Rotary Club proudly announced that Auburn City Schools Superintendent Dr. Terry Jenkins was awarded the club's annual Rotary Citizen of the Year for 2007. Jenkins accepted the award paying tribute to his parents, family and coworkers in the Auburn City School Administration
Office, who he said are mainly responsible for his inclusion into this esteemed group of Auburn citizens. Dr. Jenkins has been Auburn School Superintendent for the past seven years after a long and highly recognized career in the state of Georgia school system.

Several former winners and/or family representatives were in attendance. Some of those present for the award presentation were Rev. John Jeffers, former Auburn Mayor Jan Dempsey, Mrs. Wilford Bailey, Keith Bagwell (son of Ed and Sally Bagwell), East Alabama Food Bank's
Martha Faupel, Auburn President Ed Richardson, long-time Alabama State Rep. "Mr. Pete" Turnham, and Dr. Jim and Carolyn Matthews.
