The Auburn Rotary Club proudly recognized the two teachers selected by their peers as Auburn City Schools teachers of the year. Suzanne Moar, a fifth-grade teacher at Ogletree Elementary School, was selected as the ACS elementary teacher of the year. John Pennisi, an English and journalism teacher at Auburn High School, was selected as the ACS secondary teacher of the year. Ms. Moar and Mr. Pennisi were selected by a system-level committee that included a school system office representative, a school board member, a parent organization representative, and an elementary and secondary teacher. President-elect Jim Golson also presented each the two stellar teachers with a check for $500 as a small token of appreciation for their outstanding service to the community.
