Associated Press Georiga/Alabama Bureau Chief Gary Clark and Assistant Chief Maryann Mrowca spoke to the Auburn Rotary Club about how the AP functions in disseminating news from local sources across the United States and worldwide. The AP is a nonprofit organization to which local papers subscribe to get news stories, photographs and audio clips to pass on to their readers. Clark and Mrowca also explained how the AP football poll works and how "stringers" report election results from the local voting polls to the AP for publication and the broadcast networks.
