Dr. Jim Walter offered his background growing up to open his presentation about his recent book, "Moments of Forever." Walter grew-up on a dairy farm in Snowdoun, Ala., served in the Navy, worked for the Montgomery Advertiser, was ordained an Episcopal priest and became a board certified psychologist. After becoming the executive director of the East Alabama Mental Health Center and teaching at Troy University Montgomery, he became a part-time priest at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Montgomery.

His book, “Moments of Forever,” focuses on his belief that a sense of humor must include the ability to laugh at ourselves. Such an ability is as equally important as faith, hope and love.
