Auburn Rotarian and District 6880 DG Shawn Asmuth introduced Roger Burnett of the Montgomery Rotary Sunrise Club to discuss Rotary Foundation's Permanent Fund. The fund has set a goal to raise $200 million. While an ambitious goal, he noted that about $147 million has been pledged and/or collected. The fund's importance is in its existence as an endowment to match funds for worldwide projects, as well as, specific projects such as eradicating polio. Pledges can easily be made through individual contributions through gifts of life insurance policy.
