Ron Anders, chair of the 2005 Dixie Youth World Series in Auburn, spoke as part of the Rotary District Area 3 Meeting and Dinner. Other clubs in Area 3 also attended. Anders noted that the event has been six years in the making and two since Auburn officially won the bid to host the 50th anniversary event. Thousands are expected to attend the week-long tournament in August. Fifteen local hotels are already noting they are at capacity with teams and fans planning to be in attendance.
