Jay Jacobs, Auburn University’s new athletic director, spoke to the club about his long tenure in athletics and his new responsibilities overseeing all aspects of AU Athletics' $52 million annual budget. He cited recent events like AU's Swim Team visiting the White House and President George Bush as an example of the prestige Auburn athletes bring to the institution, community and state.

Jacobs explained his management approach in terms of business and people management. They are truly a business analyzing different models to operate in the future. He grew up seeing how Rotary and the Four-Way Test influenced his grandfather. He said principles like the Four-Way Test and his own Christian values guide how he manages the organization and the people entrusted to him.
