Margaret Holler
Coordinator
Louise Kreher Forest Ecology Preserve
at Auburn University

Margaret Holler presented a program on the Louise Kreher (Turner) Forest Ecology Preserve, which is located off College Street/Highway 147 near Highway 280. In introducing her, School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Dean Dick Brinker commended her for the work she has completed to acquire this 110-acre preserve and developing a program far exceeding original expectations.

The preserve offers programming through the form of classes and labs, not to mention offering the community a nature preserve. Holler reminded us of our dependence on a healthy environment. The preserve features a reptile viewing area, fern and wildlife flower area, pond, waterfall, streams, butterfly garden and old home barn site. There are monthly programs for birding, tree identification and pond habitat.
