Club Director of International Service Steve Speakman led the program today introducing the three most recent Rotary Foundation Scholarship winners. This program shows how 100 percent of Rotarians' donations go directly to an RI program. Each of these students will spend six months on a Cultural, Ambassadorial Scholarship studying a language in a foreign country. Five students won within our district with three of them originate from the Auburn Rotary Club. Our long-term success is the legacy of hard work by club members Bill Gwin and now Steve. Katie Massey is a senior studying social work is going to Costa Rica to study Spanish. She is from Huntsville and has been helping Hispanics in our local area learn English. Lori Prothero, from Boone, NC is an AU aerospace engineering grad now in graduate studies. She will be off to Salamanca, Spain living with a family to immerse herself in their culture & language.
