Parent Representative
March of Dimes
Melissa Earnhart spoke to the club about her son, Jackson, who was born 24 weeks premature in 2004. She shared her experiences of the March of Dimes' support after Jackson was born weighing 1 pound, 1 ounce, and no bigger than a Beanie Baby stuffed animal. Jackson spent 101 days in Children's Hospital, during which time —six weeks of that time he was on a ventilator while overcoming heart and lung development problems. Her husband, Scott, was on active military duty when this occurred, so she relied on the March of Dimes during this ordeal.
