Ben Spratling, Rotarian Jim Foy’s grandson, gave an outstanding presentation on the AU student space program. ‘AHAB’ is the high-altitude balloon experiment they coordinate, ‘AubieSat1’ is a satellite that goes into orbit spring 2006, which will test communications from space. ‘MIMIC’ is an experiment that will test magnetic fields via satellite on Mars! Strange magnetic fields exist on Mars unlike ours, which are Northern in orientation. This is a national project with students from Alabama, Arizona, Colorado and Virginia.
