Rotary Sweetheart Night
The Lodge at Grand National
This year’s Rotary Sweetheart Night, held at The Lodge at Grand National, had a record attendance of 155 Rotarians and their sweethearts. The Silent Auction — which included overnight get-a-ways to Savannah, Atlanta and Prattville’s Robert Trent Jones Trail, as well as the cadre of traditional Auburn University memorabilia, specialty dinners, and lawn and exercised equipment — netted $2,524, which was far more than expected. Many thanks to those people who donated items, especially Rotarians Nejla Orgen, Sushil Bhavnani and Luke Chastain who all gave authentic meals or excursions. These items provided a majority of the money raised.

The Community Needs drawing was also enhanced, resulting in a single cash prize of $435, and an equal amount going to our philanthropic efforts. This contribution to our community needs activities equals the amount raised during six to seven regular weekly meetings! Other prizes were also awarded during to community needs drawing ticket holders.

“ Jazz Project,” our musical entertainment, was well received. They are all members of the famed Auburn Knights who play for smaller organizations like Rotary Clubs. It was a great night enjoyed by all with a superb effort to raise much needed Community Needs funds.
