ROTARY PRAYER Oh Lord, guide us in our efforts to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise. May we continue to develop our acquaintances and strengthen ourselves to serve your world in our personal, business and community life. Bless this meal and the fellowship in the name of the many faiths we represent. |

Chance Corbett from Auburn’s Public Safety Division spoke to the Auburn Rotary Club about the topic of Emergency Management and preparedness. This department covers a wide array of areas on campus, and all of them are very important to the students, staff, faculty and visitors. Some of the areas Mr. Corbett talked about were campus emergencies, the new emergency notification system (which can send out instant alerts via telephone (both cell and land lines) text messages and emails. This is an excellent way of dispersing vital information to a wide array of people and can help protect everyone from extreme weather conditions like tornados and hurricanes, physical or bomb threats and many other possible dangers. Mr. Corbett also spoke about the importance of citizens having their own N.O.A.A. (National Weather Service) radio that is battery operated so that you can receive important weather related information even when there are power outages. |
