ROTARY PRAYER Oh Lord, guide us in our efforts to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise. May we continue to develop our acquaintances and strengthen ourselves to serve your world in our personal, business and community life. Bless this meal and the fellowship in the name of the many faiths we represent. |

Former Auburn Rotarian, and currently serving our country in the United States Army, Col. John Salvetti addressed his fellow Rotarians on the subject of his current assignment with Task Force Al-Amal in Iraq. Colonel Salvetti explained that the mission of his task force is to moderate the Iraqi detainees, working to help change their violent attitudes and become productive citizens for the rebuilding process currently underway in their country. There are currently over 23,000 detainees in Iraq. In the past the detainees were simply held in detention with no real programs to moderate their views. Col. Salvetti explained that the new program works with the detainees on an individual basis providing them with education and a “skill set” that they can use to work productively when released. Col. Salvetti described this mission as a “Batle of the Mind”. Col. Salvetti exemplifies the best of Rotary in both his career and personal life. He was also recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow before his address to fellow Rotarians. Auburn Rotary Club’s Dr. Harold Zallen presented Col. Salvetti the award and provided his introduction. |

THE FOUR-WAY TEST of the things we think, say or do 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all Concerned? |
