“Faces of Rotary”

Exploring the Steele archives of photographs unearthed a Christmas card sent by the Auburn Rotary Club more than 50 years ago. In December 1954, Reid Davis was president of the Auburn Rotary Club and he sent a Christmas greeting to each member.

The greeting card reflects quite a bit of club history it reflects, as seven of those pictured served as past club presidents. One, Jim Foy, is still a member and the influence of two others, Swede Umbach and Floyd Vallery, can still be felt in the club in the persons of their sons: Arnold Umbach Jr., and Jim Vallery, both of whom have also served as our president.
